Callixte Karemangingo was among the thousands of Rwandans who carried out one of the worst atrocities the world has ever seen.
That was before he became a Christian.
Despite being a predominantly Christian nation, more than 800,000 people were killed within three months during the genocide in 1994.
The Christian Post reports, after the genocide, Callixte was sent to jail along with thousands of other genocide perpetrators.
During his imprisonment Callixte heard the Gospel and came to faith in Christ.
He then began studying the Bible and preaching to inmates in prison, where he helped lead at least 8,600 prisoners to come to faith in Christ.
As a musician, Callixte’s change of heart inspired him to compose songs centred around love, unity, peace and reconciliation.
